Kvelertak is a six-piece rock band from Stavanger, Norway. The group started of in 2007, and is made up of vocalist Erlend Hjelvik, guitarists Vidar Landa, Njarte Lund Rolland and Maciek Ofstad, bassist Marvin Nygaard, and drummer Kjetil Gjermundrød. The band has released two albums so far; their first album was certified gold in 2010, and their latest record, Meir, was released in 2013. The band's music has been featured on magazines like Metal Hammer, Kerrang, and Rock Sound. Their style is a blend between black metal, punk, and rock and roll. They have won multiple Norwegian awards, similar to American Grammy Awards.
