Who is Courtney Elayna?:

Courtney Elayna's sound isn't easy to pinpoint when it comes to placing her into a box of genres. Hailing from a small country town in East Texas to traveling coast to coast, this independent artist's taste for music has developed through other artists' influences she's met on her journey. She has provided harmonies for many acts around the US, but local to DFW: Raised Right Men, The High-Tones, and the Venetian Sailors. She has roots beginning in bluegrass and has even worked with punk bands while living for a short time in Chicago, Il…there's really nothing this living human jukebox can't play. She is best known for hopping up on stage to provide on-the-spot crystal clear harmonies for many musical acts in the past. As for her original sound, think gold dust woman with a heart of glass.




Her musical interest sparked for her when she was very young, starting in a small church choir off Main St. in Grand Saline, Tx. She would study vocal techniques of Linda Ronstadt, Cher, and Ricky Nelson to capture and tweak her own unique sound. Through the years, she has taught herself how to play guitar and bass by reading chord books, watching video tutorials and attaching herself to expert guitar players for guidance. No one in her family had ever shown interest in playing anything other than the piano so that led her to immersing herself in music from anywhere she could get it. Radio, tapes, going to live performances, before we all relied on a short Tik Tok video to show us what we like.
