From making YouTube covers in her bedroom to shining on the big stage, Janaj is "Standing In The Light." "With a voice that blends emotion, soul, and confidence"(Nolazine), Janaj is a Houston-based singer-songwriter that creates soul-rooted music for those learning, unlearning, and growing.

Since her early YouTube days, she has graced stages like Miller Outdoor Theatre, the Ensemble Theatre, and served as lead singer of the band Mango Punch. In 2021, she released her debut project In Retrospect, and in 2025, she released her standout single "I'll Show You", a smooth R&B track pairing vulnerability with storytelling about overcoming avoidant tendencies in relationships.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Jazmine Sullivan, Tori Kelly, Kehlani, Ariana Grande, and H.E.R., Janaj writes from real-life experiences with the intention of making listeners feel, whether it's joy, heartbreak, love, or healing.
