From the vibrant musical landscape of Denton and Ft Worth, TX, The Waylanders emerge as a dynamic duo that marries Rock-N-Roll grit with Honky Tonk flair. Comprised of the punchy rhythms of our female drummer, Dani, also on backing vocals, and the twangy melodies of Joey on guitar, harmonica, and lead vocals, this two-piece band channels the renegade spirit of Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Their sound is deeply rooted in the rebellious vibes of 70s country, enriched with the soulful feel of the blues and harmonies of bluegrass. The Waylanders have carved out a niche with their distinctly nostalgic retro style, bringing a lively and unexpectedly robust presence to the stage that belies their modest setup. Their performances are a high-energy affair, captivating audiences with a sound that feels both familiar and innovative.
