Come out and celebrate Aires season at Dan Electro's: Lucas/Heaven (formerly of Grandfather Child) returns to Dan Electros for a special night of funky disco, jazz fusion and heartfelt soul with his very own "family band", a 10-piece all-star cast including a cross-section of Houston's best musicians. Legendary Houston stalwart Kam Franklin (The Suffers) opens the show with her new solo project, backed by the Lucas/Heaven family band. DJ Uncle Tino will open and close the show, ensuring that the funk will prevail. This will be a night to remember. One Night Only!

BIO: From his early days in avant-garde music with non-profit org Nameless Sound, to leading the psychedelic blues-hound supergroup Grandfather Child, into his work as a producer with artists like Too $hort, Felix Ames, Fat Tony and Dent May, and onto the release of his 2022 synth-disco odyssey Blues of the World, Lucas has been a restless experimenter. In 2024, he released an EP of cover songs performed on the talkbox, simply titled TALKBOX. The year prior, he unveiled a Muppets-inspired puppet-led music video for the track "Every City Has a Rhythm." The song, by the way, has over a million streams on Spotify. Not bad for an independent producer running the entire operation on his own. Speaking of the operation, it's grown rather larger in the live setting. To transform the IMAGINE THAT! album (and his whole discography) into concert form, Lucas has put together two 11-piece ensembles, one based in Houston and one based in LA. Always keen to experiment and push his perspective in new directions, it's hard to sum up his 2025 LP, IMAGINE THAT!, with a single genre tag, but some of the ideas he works with include but are not limited to: 70s film scores, jazz-fusion, afrobeat, funk, disco and soul. All these sounds work together and coalesce to amplify the album's simple but stirring message: "I'm imagining a better world, one that's not so fucked up."

Kam Franklin is a singer-songwriter, music producer, activist, writer, orator, model, visual artist, and actress from Houston, TX. She is best known for her work with the gulf coast soul band, The Suffers, but Kam began performing gospel music at the age of five. A three-time recipient of the Houston Press Music Award for Best Female Vocalist, Kam has performed on five continents and has performed with the Suffers backed by The Houston Symphony in addition to being featured solo. Both Forbes and Vice have featured Kam for her activism and business ventures that seek to create a more equitable and inclusive environment in the arts for black, queer, and femme artists working in all mediums and from all backgrounds. Kam's unique style and fashion-sense has also been covered by Buzzfeed, Refinery 29, and Nylon. Fronting The Suffers, Kam has performed nationally on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and Jimmy Kimmel Live in addition to speaking with Ailsa Chang and Ari Shapiro on NPR's All Things Considered, Brené Brown's "Dare To Lead" Podcast, Samantha Brown's "Places To Love", The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and National Geographic's "Texas: Spirit and Soul" short film. At home, Kam remains a very active participant in the Houston music scene, producing events that have featured up-and-coming acts from around the Gulf Coast area while leveraging her and The Suffers' international platform to represent the City of Houston and champion her entrepreneurial approach to finding success in the arts for women, minorities, and independent artists. She currently serves on the board of HeadCount.org, as Governor for the Texas Chapter of the Recording Academy, and she also served as the inaugural Texas Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ambassador for the Texas Chapter of The Recording Academy.
